What is on-chip ROM shown in the figure of the memory map in the manual?

Latest Updated:06/20/2013

Question:

What is the "on-chip ROM (user boot) (read only)" shown in the figure of the memory map in the manual?

Answer:

It is the area where a program is executed in USB (user) boot mode.

When a product is shipped, a USB boot program is stored in this user boot mat. It is possible to write to this area in boot mode. However, please note that this will delete the USB boot program.

For details, please see USB (User) Boot Mode in the ROM (Flash Memory for Code Storage) section of the user's manual: hardware.
