(RX630,RX63N, RX631) What is "On-chip ROM (program ROM) (write only)" in the manual?

Latest Updated:01/23/2014

Question:

What is "On-chip ROM (program ROM) (write only)" in the memory map diagram in the manual?

Answer:

When programming or erasing ROM, a different address from the address for executing software is specified. "On-chip ROM (program ROM) (write only)" is the virtual area of the address specified at this time.

For erasing on-chip ROM, or reading after programming, specify the "on-chip ROM (program ROM) (read only)" address.

For details, please see Configuration of the ROM Area in the Overview section of the Flash Memory chapter of the User's Manual: Hardware.
