Can I check C-language source code of the addresses?

Latest Updated:11/20/2014

Question:

I am using the CA78K0R compiler for RL78 and 78K0R products. Is there any way of checking C-language source code for the addresses where sections start and end?

Answer:

There is no function for obtaining the addresses where sections start and end in C-language and assembly source code. Define labels at the points where sections start and end and use the labels.

This method is used in the start-up routine for initializing the values of variables, so use this as a reference.
Definitions are used to indicate the start and end addresses in the following cases, so the method can be used even if there are multiple files.

  • The symbol for the start address is defined in the start-up routine.
  • The symbol for the end address is defined in rom.asm among the library files.
