Does the input current flows only to pin selected in analog input bit?

Latest Updated:03/01/2005

Question:

(A/D Converter)  According to the datasheet, maximum analog input current IIA is 5.0μA. Does this flow only to the pin selected in the analog input pin selection bit? Also, does this current flow to the selected pin at all times ? [2005/03/01]

Answer:

Analog input current IIA only flows to the pin selected in the analog input pin selection bit. Rather than a fixed current flowing at all times, the current varies according to the analog input voltage etc. to a standard maximum value of 5.0μA. When A/D conversion is not being performed, IIA current does not flow, but an input current appropriate for the port (IIH, IIL) does. (#104827)
